According to an insider, the game was removed from both stores for Android and iOS devices on Thursday, 28th July 2022. It was also disclosed that the removal was due to the Indian government order.

The game developer, Krafton, said earlier in July 2022 that over 100 million users are playing the game in India. Also, according to a report from Moneycontrol, the suspension of the app from the Google Play Store was confirmed by a Google spokesperson who said:

“On receipt of the order, following established process, we have notified the affected developer and have blocked access to the app that remained available on the Play Store in India.”

Why is BGMI Removed from App Store?

BGMI is removed from App Store because of the Indian government order that the app is removed from the Google Play store and the Apple App Store, respectively, on Thursday 28th July 2022.

Although the game remains most people’s favourite video game ever made for Indian gamers, and the esports tournament was even broadcasted live on national TV, it seems the game did not go well with the government, hence the reason for the order.

Earlier in July 2021, Krafton launched PUBG Mobile as Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and promised to keep its data locally to conform with the regulations of the Indian government on data security.

Many players are surprised by the removal of BGMI from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Nothing is coming up if anyone tries to search for the game on both stores.
