WhatsApp is rolling out a new version which will allow users to use an account on multiple devices. The new feature was reportedly found on a recent copy of WhatsApp version 2.20.196.8 submitted to Google Play Beta.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently testing the feature to work across a multiple of four different mobile devices concurrently.
However, the WhatsApp version to enable this feature is still in beta and not public, meaning that, WhatsApp is still working to improve on the performance of this feature. You can’t publicly find the version yet on Google Play unless you have enrolled as a WhatsApp Beta Tester.
Up to this time, WhatsApp users cannot run an account on two mobile devices even on cloned versions. The moment you’re logged in a new device, you’re logged out from the previous. For this reason, it will be considered a great development when finally rolled out.
Although, users can sync a mobile account with the web version when they scan a QR code using the mobile app. Also, it is possible to log in with two different mobile numbers on a mobile device provided it has both WhatsApp Business and WhatsApp Messenger apps installed on the device, or through the use of WhatsApp clones.
The edge this new feature will have over these is the ability to combine multiple devices irrespective of their OS and screen sizes. This will help people get in touch with their friends and families and help businesses serve their customers in a more efficient way.
The WhatsApp same account on multiple mobile devices feature is still in beta testing and yet to be made available for the public.
