Instagram is the go-to for people, brands and businesses. It helps to showcase skills and advertise a company or brand.
There is always a new audience to reach every day. This is essential for business growth, and Instagram has ensured that.
Keeping active on Instagram can help you get the best out of the platform, especially if you have a business or brand looking to build an audience and reach out to new potential customers.
Instagram also has celebrities and public figures showcasing their lifestyles, cars, clothing, accessories and more. You don’t want to miss all the gossip and dramas on the platform.
You need to start posting to grow your audience and make your account a subject of interest or the centre of attraction.
How to Post on Instagram
Regularly posting on Instagram is suitable for business marketing. Here is how:
Launch the Instagram mobile app
You must launch the mobile app and log in with your correct login credentials. This is necessary before you can access your account.
You will be taken to your home feed if the login process is successful. Note that you cannot post from the Instagram website.
Select the + icon on your mobile screen.
To post as a logged-in user, tap the “+” icon at the top of your mobile screen and select “Post”. This takes you to your device gallery, where you can choose a picture or video from your library or take one immediately.
Note that you can select more than one picture or video on Instagram. After choosing an Image or multiple images, select the “Arrow” icon to proceed with editing.
Edit the post or apply a filter
Now, you are on the edit page where you have your post and can make some important changes before making it go live. The “Filter” option on the first tab lets you choose different filter versions of your post.
On the second tab is the “Edit” option that lets you crop and change brightness, structure, warmth, saturation, colour and more.
Ensure you edit your post appropriately and click on the “Arrow” icon again.
Take advantage of your options
The next page is where you choose specific options before your posts are sent to the public space. If you want to tag accounts in your post, select “Tap people”. You can also add a location or reminder to your post.
Instagram also allow posting on other Instagram accounts you have on the device and other connected websites. You must select the account and the connected websites to share, among other settings options.
Under “Advance settings”, you can hide likes and view counts, turn off comments and set an audience you want to see the post on Facebook.
Do not forget to add an appropriate caption for the post. This doesn’t have to be texts alone. You can add emojis to beautify your texts.
Edit again
Preview your post and check all edits correctly. Also, ensure you check your caption for possible misspellings and wrong grammar.
Mistakes are best corrected before publishing your post. So, do check well to avoid an embarrassing situation.
Save as a draft or make the post go live
If you do not want to post just yet, you can save your work as a draft. You can do this by going back to the “Edit” page and tapping on “Save Draft”.
Otherwise, you can make the post live by tapping the “Tick” icon. Once you select the icon, your post will go on Instagram, and people can see it on their news feed or your profile.
If you realize a mistake after a post is made, select the three dots icon from the right corner of the post and tap “Edit”. Adjust all you need to and save to make your changes reflect.
