Have you made some error that needs correction in your tweet? In this post, we have explained how to edit a post on Twitter.
Well, mistakes are part of life. Mistakes often occur when making posts on social media websites like Twitter. Common mistakes people make on Twitter include typographic, grammar and contextual errors.
It can happen to anyone, so there is no need to get upset about the situation. Except you read and proofread perfectly enough before you make your tweet go live.
If this happens to you, consider making appropriate changes by considering an edit. However, no feature allows you to make changes to tweets. Hence, you cannot find the edit option for posts on the platform.
Twitter started with an SMS text messaging service, which doesn’t require an edit option. Once a message is sent, it is sent and delivered to the receiver; hence, there is no need for an edit.
Although the developers haven’t seen the need to add the feature, there is a way around it. Below, you can find out what it takes to change your tweet.
Why do you need to Edit a Tweet?
If you make a mistake in your tweet, it is ideal to edit it properly to save yourself from an unpleasant situation and to avoid being “dragged” on the platform.
Editing a tweet can save you from embarrassment.
How to Edit a Tweet on Desktop
To edit a post on Twitter, go to https://twitter.com/ and log in to your account. Now locate the post on the Twitter web or mobile app and select the entire text. Once you choose the texts, copy them to your clipboard and then delete the Tweets.
To delete your tweet, select the three dots icon to the top right corner of the post and select “Delete Tweet”. This will remove the post entirely, and you can now proceed with a fresh tweet.
On the tweet composer, paste the copied texts and edit appropriately. Ensure you change all the mistakes you have identified in the tweet, then post it.
Conclusion
This method appears to be longer, but it is the only viable option we currently have. Twitter announced that it is working on an “Edit” function which will be rolled out in phase.
While waiting for this feature, you can either prevent a mistake or make changes using the method described above.
To prevent errors in your tweet, thoroughly proofread your texts and sentences and ensure all is in order. Also, confirm the point you are making to avoid stating what is not.
If you are not well-pleased, or you have a second thought about a tweet, you better not post it at all.
