The Snapchat profile is divided into different sections. Here, you will learn how to use and set up My Profile, Public Profiles for a personal account and businesses, Friendship Profiles and Group Profiles.
How to Edit a Snapchat Profile
My Profile
Under My Profile on Snapchat, you can see and set up specific information about your account. You can set your Bitmoji, add a location on the Map and check your friend’s data.
It also includes options for managing a Story, checking who has viewed it and customizing a 3D Bitmoji header.
To access “My Profile”, tap on the profile icon on the topmost left corner of your screen. On the page, you can create a group chat, add a story or create a private story, add friends and manage your friend’s list, add to spotlight and manage your favourite spotlights and more.
Pulling down your Profile card will allow you to share a customized pose and background of your 3D Bitmoji header on other social media accounts.
Public Profiles
A Public profile is used to find a Snapchat user. By creating a public profile, your name will start to appear on your Snap under Spotlight and Map. Also, your searchable lenses will be shown on your public profile.
However, you can delete your public profile or make changes to settings anytime.
To create your public profile, visit the “My Profile” tab and the Public profiles section. Select “Create Public Profile” and proceed with the set of on-screen instructions.
Note that you can add a bio, profile photo and other public information to your public profile. To do this, go to the My Profile tab and select the Public Profile card below the “Public Profile” section and select “Edit Profile”.
Features of a Public Profile
Stories: A collection of your photos and videos visible on your Public Profile. You can create a story by going to your “Public Profiles” and selecting the “Save a Story to your Profile” option.
You must select the photos or videos to add from your Camera Roll, then tap “Select” to continue. After considering a review, select “Next” and add a title and cover for your story.
To publish a story to your public profile, tap “Finish”.
Lenses: You can also add a lens to your Profile on Snapchat. Any lens uploaded is automatically sent to your Public Profile.
Subscriber Count: With public profile enabled, you can set whether or not your subscriber count should show on your it. You can make changes to the Subscriber Count visibility from the Public Profile Settings.
Go to “Edit Profile” and select Public Profile management below the page. Now, enable or disable the “Show Subscriber Count” option.
Friendship Profiles
The friendship profile lets you access certain information about your friendship with a user. Some of the available profile features include the option to report, block or remove a friend. You can also manage notifications with them.
A Snapchat user can initiate a voice or video call from the friendship profile. You can also send a Snap or start a chat from there.
To see a Friendship Profile, swipe to your right from the camera screen and select the friend’s bitmoji icon.
Group Profiles
A Group Profile lets you see Snaps and Chats saved in a Group Chat. By swiping right from the camera screen, you must select a group Bitmoji to see the Group profile.
Other available features include an option to add more friends, leave the group, edit the group name and manage notifications.
