My top 10 blogging tools
-
WordPress
Livetechnoid is a WordPress website just in case you are not aware. Currently, it is running on the Jannah theme. Although, there are other blogging platforms I have considered WordPress for certain interesting reasons.
WordPress an online, open-source website creation tool. It has contributors all around the world who are always working towards improving the platform.
In addition, themes and plugins are designed and updated from time to time, thereby, making the platform very easy and interactive to use.
If I would have to pick a blogging platform for my next blog or website, it is definitely going to be WordPress again.
-
Chrome/Mozilla
Browsers are used to access both the frontend and backend of websites. The frontend of every website is the part in which the website visitors and readers can access while the backend is meant for the website administrators.
The backend is where the website appearance is adjusted and where new content and features are added, and also, where the existing contents are edited or deleted.
The default backend URL for every WordPress website is the URL for the website with “/wp-admin/” (without “ ”) attached. In accessing this backend, I prefer using either the Chrome or Mozilla browser.
There are numerous reviews on the internet for these two browsers but practically, I can’t categorically select one as my preferred choice.
-
Google Trends
Google Trends is the third tool of my top 10 blogging tools. It contributes significantly to the early process of keyword research.
Google Trends gives a breakdown of popular keywords on the Google search engine in a region at a particular point in time. This breakdown helps content writers in making a decision on articles to publish on their website.
It is a good idea to know what’s trending before writing. No one wants to write on topics nobody is interested in reading. This is the main reason why I don’t joke with Google Trends.
-
Google Ads
Google Ads is my major tool when it comes to keyword research. Most of the times, it’s not about just writing on a trending keyword, one needs to know the potential of the keyword first.
Google Ads gives certain details like the search volume of the keyword and the bids for the keyword from advertisers. This will give an insight into the number of traffic visit to be expecting and the potential earnings from writing an article on such keyword.
Monthly search volumes of keywords differ from country to country and Google Ads is a great tool to help you out. In case you would love how to do keyword research, here is the link to efficient keyword research for WordPress blogs.
-
Google Webmasters
Google Webmasters console is a great tool for all website owners. This console is where you monitor your website’s activities on the Google search engine.
If a website owner submitted the sitemap to his website on Google search console, the webpages of the websites are indexed by the Google and crawled from time to time allowing the webpages to be served to Google users.
It also gives an analysis of how your webpages are served to Google users when they search for related keywords.
We have explained the process of submitting a sitemap in a previous discussion.
-
Microsoft Word
You might be wondering why the need for a word processor in blogging. Apparently, it is not an essential tool but I found it easy to use. This is why it made my top 10 blogging tools list.
I found it easier typing with the Microsoft Word interface than on the WordPress editor. After all, most of the Microsoft Word functions and shortcuts work well with the WordPress editor.
-
Canva
Images are part of the essentials of a webpage. As a content creator, I need at least, an image for every new content I bring in.
If I choose to start designing images, it will take a lot of time before I can publish my articles. This is why I considered Canva templates in designing my images.
Using Canva is fast and free, and, depending on how skillful you are, people might really think images designed with Canva are designed using graphics design packages.
-
GTmetrix
GTmetrix is used to test a website’s speed. How fast a website is, is one of the ranking factors in Google and other search engines.
Gtmetrix will tell report the time taken to load a particular webpage on your website and gives hint on how to improve the website speed.
-
Plugins
Plugins are the nineth of my top 10 blogging tools. As discussed recently, plugins are used on WordPress to add certain features to your website. I have listed the plugins I use and what they do.
-
Cloudflare
Cloudflare is an amazing CDN (Content Delivery Network) provider that allows can help your site load on time. It increases the website’s speed and improve the general performance.
Their best plans don’t come free of charge but starting with the free plan is never a bad idea.
